June 2021 - The boat was moved onto a boat trailer ready for the completion of the interior.
Prototype seats were installed along with orelocks and cleats. |
|
June 2021 - Marine enamel was applied to the bottom. There are many layers with sanding as required
between coats. |
|
Spring 2021 - After masking all the varnished wood I worked on applying a layer of fibreglass and several
coats of resin two make the bottom water tight. There was much sanding between layer of resin so I was grateful for
the outside location. |
|
Spring 2021 - I set up an outdoor workspace where I could have good airflow while working with fibreglass
and finishes. |
|
Winter 2020-2021 - Due to the multicolour of the old and new cedar planks, I stained the boat interior a
uniform colour. I then designed a replacement deck. I added braces for the eventual seat supports. I varnished the
exposed woodwork. During some down time I designed cleats, fender holders and ore locks for eventual installation. |
|
Winter 2020-2021 - I moved the boat into my shop as a pandemic project away from the cold and snow. While
there I repaired all the missing cedar bottom planks, added an inner & outer keel, and new inner & outer gunwales. |
|
July 2020 - I was given a partly restored 1950's rowboat. Once transported home I placed it on a fixed rack
to make it easy for working as I planed my corse of action. |
